E Theremin – Electro Theremin 1.1

The Vintage Electro–Theremin, reminiscent of the Onassis Martino style synthesizer, draws inspiration from early classic slider-controlled instruments such as the Ondes-Martenot, Trautonium, and Tannerin/electro-theremin.

This application features two oscillators, capable of producing a rich, fat analogue tone. Users can select from five distinct waveforms: saw, square, triangle, sine, and theremin wave, along with an octave shift option. The E Theremin excels in delivering portamento, vibrato, and quarter-tones with remarkable precision.

In 1928, Maurice Martenot introduced one of the first electronic musical instruments, the Ondes-Martenot. While similar in sound to the theremin, it offered a distinct user interaction through a slider on a cord. Subsequently, in the 1950s, Paul Tanner developed the Tannerin (also known as the Electro-Theremin), which utilized similar slider controls for pitch modulation. The Tannerin played a significant role in iconic recordings including The Beach Boys’ "Good Vibrations."
